The date range is from 1942 – 2007, 1960s-2004 predominant. The records in this collection include books and catalogues about the Regina Five as well as Clement Greenberg, Barnet Newman, David Smith and others. Correspondence from Lochhead to his Mother and Father from 1942 to 1981 includes information about himself, his family and his time as the Director of the School of Art and the Norman MacKenzie Art Gallery in Regina. Supporting documents for Lochhead’s curriculum vitae are included as well as files pertaining to the many donations Lochhead has made to various institutions. Many of Lochhead exhibitions
are documented with slides and photographs. Information on honours and awards are also
present.
Included in these files is the “Millwood Road Poems” book, written by Lochhead and by his
brother Douglas Lochhead. Douglas Lochhead is a life-member of the League of Canadian
Poets and since 1975, the Davidson Professor of Canadian Studies at Mount Allison University in
Sackville, New Brunswick. Also included are biographical materials, clippings, correspondence
and poems by Douglas Lochhead.
