The scope of these fonds is from 1987 - 1994. The fonds consist of material generated by Maggie Siggins in the research and writing of two books: Revenge of the Land: a Century of Greed, Tragedy and Murder on a Saskatchewan Farm published by McClelland and Stewart in 1991 and Riel: a Life of Revolution published by Harper Collins. The Revenge of the Land:... series consists of excerpts from books, historical papers and documents, court documents, homestead documents, interviews (transcribed and original recordings), newspaper and magazine articles and photographs. All of these document the history and settlers of Section 11, Township 16, Range 25, west of the Second Meridian near Pasqua, Saskatchewan from 1883 to 1989. Some of the material also related to the people and events occurring in the Moose Jaw area during this period. The Riel:... series includes excerpts from articles, books, newspapers and legal
documents pertaining to Louis Riel's life from 1844 to 1885. These records include documentation relating to the Red River Colony and the Red River Rebellion in Manitoba and the North-West Rebellion of 1884 to 1885 culminating
in Riel's death. Also included are materials on the settlement of the Red River Colony; Louis Riel's parents and grandparents; and events occurring in Regina, Prince Albert and the Batoche area during the North-West Rebellion; and
translations, from French to English, of poetry and letters by and to Louis Riel.

The research files give insights into the personal Thatcher drama as well as into politics in Saskatchewan from about 1950 to 1984.
